What’s Wrong With Fluoride Toothpaste?

Article by Shawn Dady, July 26, 2015

Fluoride is first of all, one of the deadliest poisons known to man. Google flouride1that. Kids swallow toothpaste all the time, and sometimes copious amounts. I know I did that as a kid. Should they be? Not really my total point but one to think about.

As far as what fluoride does in regards to teeth – here’s the thing.

If you’ve ever seen dry bone in a hot, sunny field, you know that bone has holes in it. On a much more microscopic level in teeth, these tiny “holes” in the bone, this cellular structure, is constantlybeing attended to by the body. Old bone is taken away and disposed of, new bone is being formed. This give-and-take creates strong, healthy bone.

Fluoride LOCKS IN the old bone. It no longer allows for the healthy give-and-take of old bone out/new bone in. Yes, nothing moves. Yes it seems like it resists cavities. But the end result is brittle, easily-damaged teeth, and no cavity protection. And the evidence does not support cavity protection. Kids who use Crest toothpaste and the like have just as many, if not more, cavities than the rest of the population.

toothpasteKids naturally go through a time when their teeth are vulnerable. Usually baby teeth soften up between the ages of 7 to 12 because they are naturally getting ready to be replaced. They become very susceptible to cavities. That’s why nutrition and things like cod liver oil and butter oil (containing high levels of vitamin k2) are so important during those years. Good nutrition = less cavities. The blood feeds the teeth, and if there is a lack, minerals are taken out of the teeth to feed the body and keep the proper PH levels in the blood.

The other reason to avoid store-bought toothpaste is because of something called GLYCERIN. Look for it on every label. Glycerin is the enemy of healthy teeth because it coats the teeth and creates a barrier for a while between teeth and saliva. Saliva is important because it plays an important part in the re-mineralization process of teeth. Saliva contains minerals from the blood. If you block saliva from coating the teeth, the teeth miss out on this important step in the process. Combine that with poor nutrition and you’ve got a fine recipe for loads of cavities.
