Raw CHEESE Herd Share Program

We in middle TN are blessed beyond belief. I feel very privileged and proud to introduce to you a brand new farm that is now offering RAW CHEESES through a herd share program. This is not hard, aged cheese, although those are wonderful and they do offer them as well. These cheeses are raw, young, flavorful, SOFT cheeses, made with the finest raw goat milk, and kept raw, all through the artisan cheese-making process. If you’ve ever wanted to have not only fresh raw milk, but also soft RAW CHEESE here is an excellent opportunity for you. Here is a short but tantalizing bit of information about Little Seed Farm. I am very happy and excited to let everyone know about this farm. What a blessing!

We are Little Seed Farm. We are located in Lebanon, TN. Our goats are on pasture (rotationally grazed) 24/7 with access to fresh water and minerals and at milking time are given a ration of certified organic, non-GMO, soy free, local feed, they are never given growth hormones or prophylactic antibiotics, and our pastures are managed in compliance with organic standards. We pride ourselves for going above and beyond the required organic standards although neither our farm, nor our products, are officially certified organic. We view our farm as Beyond Organic.

We are excited to offer local raw milk cheese made with milk from our pastured goat herd through our unique cheese herd-share CSA. We currently have distribution points in Nashville, Donelson, Murfreesboro, and also offer pick-up at our farm in Lebanon. We would love to serve any area where there is significant interest. Please let us know if you would like to help us start a distribution point in your area.

We offer 14 week memberships for $112 ($8/week) plus a one-time, non-refundable $30 fee to purchase a share in the Little Seed Farm herd.littleseedfarm-blackgoat The amount of cheese you will receive each week depends on the herd’s production, but a typical full-share member could expect a quarter to a third pound of cheese per week. You may purchase a half-share or multiple shares depending on your cheese needs.

In addition to the most well-known form of goat cheese (soft and creamy chèvre), we make a variety of artisanal cheeses from our herd’s milk. These include soft-ripened cheeses such as brie and chevrot, and aged cheeses such as tomme, farmhouse cheddar, and manchego. We also make our signature yogurt, a delightfully thick icelandic-style yogurt called Skyr. If you like greek yogurt, you’ll love it!
