Covenant Family Farm–Heirloom Raw Dairy and Organic Vegetables

Covenant Family Farm is located in the beautiful rolling hills of Santa Fe, TN about 15 miles north of Columbia. Our property has been farmed since the mid-1800s and we live in the original farm house that dates to about 1848. We are blessed to be about 2 miles south of the famous Natchez Trace just off New Highway 7 near the old Fly Village.
 
We milk 2 beautiful heirloom breed Jerseys named Anna Belle and Betsy, and they are mostly grass fed. At milking time, they do get a little corn. We are non-GMO in our focus but right now, the very small amount of corn we use as a treat at milking time may have some GMO in it. We are working toward eliminating that.

We are also beginning a pilot plot of a mulch based garden for fresh vegetables this year. Our two teen aged sons provide most of the labor for feeding and milking our select herd and have several other projects in progress around the farm.

We will have eggs including the dark choclate ones from our Cuckoo Marans hens. They will be free-range, pastured, orange-yolked beauties. You will love them. They will be $3.50 per dozen. We will also be offering free-range pastured poultry for $2.99 per pound. We will be letting customers know when these are available.

We plan to use glass jars and will deliver to the Franklin area once per week to an established location where share owners can meet us to pick up their milk (much like a co-op for food and other items). We will deliver into Franklin, Columbia, Spring Hill, Lieper’s Fork also once the demand is there.

The share joining fee is $50 non-refundable upfront then $26 per month for the labor on 1 gallon of milk per week–about $6.50 per gallon of labor on milk. We can do paypal or check.
